Garage sales used to be a very informal affair. The seller would put out in the morning goods they would like to sell and people driving around in the neighbourhood would stop and browse through. If they found something they liked, they negotiated, and then they went back to their car, took out a few coins from where ever they kept their coins and a deal was concluded right there and then. Simple, right?
Not anymore! First the seller has to sort through all the things they would like to sell, clean them, take pictures and put prices on everything. You pay whatever price is affixed, no negotiations. You may also be very surprised to learn that the seller is only taking e-transfers. Sorry, keep your coins in your car, there is no room for coins at a garage sale anymore!
What happens to left over goods? Yeah, that one… grandma used to take everything left at the end of the day and donated it to Goodwill or to the Salvation Army. Not this time. Anything left over is taken back inside for sale next time. We definitely are holding on to our goods! Nothing goes free of charge anymore.
Talk to us, we could make your garage sale a major success.
